Taking inspiration from the shell of the Nautilus mollusc (a distant cousin to squids, octopi and cuttlefish that has a coiled external shell, by the way), this Trinity citrus basket from Alessi is crafted from stainless steel and coated in epoxy resin. Thought up by Australian-designer Adam Cornish, it echoes the sinuous spinal structure of the genus. Oh, and did you know that the creatures use jet propulsions to roam the ocean? Pretty neat.
