Since 1988, Issey Miyake has been synonymous with pleats – the signature technique the late Japanese designer made his signature. In fact, we’d go as far as to say there’s nothing the label can’t do with the corrugated effect. A case in point, the Gem trousers. They’re constructed in a mixture of machine-made and handmade pleats curving around the body in accordion-like formations. For the full effect, slip them on with the matching jacket.
