The journey of The Lacquer Company started in 1999 when its founder James Lowther purchased an antique lacquer box when travelling in Burma. But it wasn't until 2011 that he decided to put his experience in interior design to use and start his own company, celebrating this ancient craft. Each piece, including this large scalloped Belles Rives tray, is handmade in Saigon, Vietnam using a centuries-old traditional technique of Son Mai, practised by experienced local craftsmen.
